It has been raining and windy but it is quiet now. The mists are sitting on the hills shrouding the valley in a soft hush. Inside, the snowdrops make their bows, the star performers on the windowsill stage. The audience appreciates the opportunity to sit still, and see the wonder and beauty of this world.
We stayed in a remote Welsh cottage over the winter. It was a joy to make peaceful drawings and paintings in the soft quiet of the dark, short days. There was a wonderful dinner set that had woodland animals and birds on and they were great fun to paint. The windows were tiny with deep sills - deep enough to host a flower performance on!
